Multifactor Authentication Coming to Loansifter
Black Knight is committed to continuously enhancing and improving our security standards to protect our customers and your information. On November 1st we will begin adding Multifactor Authentication (MFA) to the Loansifter log in process to further enhance the security of the platform. All users are scheduled to have MFA enabled by the end of November.
MFA is a security technology that requires multiple methods of authentication from independent categories of credentials to verify a user's identity for login. For Loansifter, that means something you know (your password credentials) and something you have (an email account or mobile phone). Both factors are uniquely yours and make it more difficult for unauthorized parties to have access to your data. Some form of this method of added security is likely already utilized by many other entities with which you do business (your personal bank for example).
When MFA is activated for your site:
- You will continue to log into Loansifter with your username and password.
- Once the username and password are successfully entered, you will be prompted to select either the email address or mobile phone number associated with your account where a one-time six-digit passcode will be sent. If you have not provided us with your mobile phone number yet, we will collect it the first time you select to be authenticated by phone and we will save that number for future use. If you ever need to update your mobile number, you can access it on your My Profile page in Loansifter.
- You will then be required to enter the six-digit passcode provided to complete the log in process.
- The one-time passcode will be valid for 5 minutes. If the passcode expires, you will be able to request a new passcode at your convenience.
